Dean Guitars is a well-known company specialized in making electric guitars, especially the versions of the series of classic Gibson Modernistic guitars. As well as this Dean guitars to high-quality acoustics and mandolins and banjos.
The company was founded in 1977 by Dean Zelinsky, after which the company is named. He wanted to make a better guitar for musicians of rock and metal that existed when the company began. Abbott was a big fan of Dean ML model, which was the only guitar he used when playing with Pantera and his last band, Damageplan. He had made a signature ML, painting with a dark blue and lightning graphic. In 2003 / 4 Abbott worked with Dean to make a new model based on ML. He was called the Razorback and seemed a ML with a body Pointier much. A Razorback V model was also designed, a V-shaped guitar with these points in the body. Tragically, Abbott was shot to death in December 2004, when he was playing with his post-Pantera band Damageplan. He was killed by a mentally disturbed member of the audience, at the age of 38. The Razorback and Razorback V models were launched in 2005 as a tribute to Abbott.
Now, Dean has a large scale, including the ever-present V, Z and ML models, the Razorbacks, who are available in a wide variety of finishes Custom, Cadillac, cutaway Hardtail bed, the Les Paul-style Soltero, the Splittail and Vendetta.
