Classical Guitar Grading

Polka music has been discussed a lot lately in meetings and in certain articles in newspapers. The main point of discussion seems to be that music is polka losing their followers - and dying.

Hear and read statements like this bother me, but I do not really pay much attention to the view some people were on the subject - until yesterday. This is spontaneous when browsing the Internet led me to another proof that Slovenian Polka Music - or Cleveland Style Polka (in United States of America) is becoming increasingly popular and lively - than ever - the place where it all began, on the sunny side of the Alps ...

The first and most surprising proof of my statement above is that young children are creating old Slovenian and Slovenian folk music playing and throwing boxes button and accordions (the basic tool in the polka beat melodies) with such passion and virtuosity, that even I, born and raised in Slovenia, was totally surprised.

Let me go back a few decades in rural Slovenia. Even though I was living in a small village where most people were farmers, folk music was not so popular among the pillars in my school. I can only remember two of my school friends, twin brothers, who were madly addicted to that kind of music. At the same time, very few children were learning to play accordion at music school. However, they were performing recitals of classical music, not polka Tunes - and sometimes a few popular songs, with the corresponding occasion or season.

Of course, the very popular "Veseli" dancing, polkas and waltzes were played and danced in - at least half the time and everyone (regardless of age) would dance for them. And those who sat with joy a touch of his feet or fingers of their hands to the rhythm of the happiest music known to man - polka.

Back to the present time, the Internet and my laptop. Using both, I came across some artists young and incredibly talented and creators of Slovenian polkas, individuals as well as bands. His enthusiasm for what they do is contagious and I can see clearly and state unequivocally that one of the main sources of music happy, Slovenia, things look brighter and more promising than ever!
