Electric Guitar Love Songs
What is the best music to play the electric guitar in a hearing of the band?
I play guitar and I played for 4 years now. Have you subscribed for the hearing to be in a band, but I need to play a practical for them to judge me and I rate among the others who have heard. The piece that you think it would be great to play to show what I know? I'd love to hear your opinions on music Guitar great. Thank you!
The most important question you need to ask is what kind of music they play (or want to play if not playing now). If they play Billy Joel covers, whipping out a metal song as hearing a piece will not score any points either. I honestly wonder what they expect. If they are an established band, they probably need someone you can play something already written, so you can not score points to do their own thing ... If you have something already, you can play it there in, but you'll probably have to rely on copper. That said, avoid cliches because you will probably fall flat. Trying to play "Eruption" can just off Van Halen fans, because only a handful of people can play it correctly. "Stairway to Heaven", besides being very long, can only people moan. "Smoke on the Water" would make them ill. Classic rock has a lot of material, well-balanced from which to choose. As much as I do not like your music most part, Eric Clapton has a lot of decent songs with guitar riffs as well - "Cocaine" has a riff, very recognizable and play some decent playing base too. "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones is one that demonstrates the versatility. "Pinball Wizard" by the WHO is also a demonstration of good, because it demonstrates solid rhythm playing along with some catchy stuff right. If you really want to show, trying to "Every Breath You Take" by Police. The management when the song seems impressive when you play. Similarly, "Message in a Bottle" is another that looks and sounds cool. Another great use would be be "This Charming Man" by the Smiths ... singer in his bag all you want, but Johnny Marr is a fantastic guitarist. If you can figure out how to play the guitar line with a pick, you'll know you're getting somewhere as a guitarist. Likewise, if you can find anything from Nick Drake or touch "Grace" Jeff Buckley, you'll score some points. If they are a metal / hard rock band, most things classic rock will do, however, you may need to whip "One" by Metallica (to mix things intricate and robust). "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne is also a demonstration good metal. For punk rock, "I Want to Be Sedated" by the Ramones, "Pretty Vacant" and "God Save the Queen" from Fri Pistols, "Waiting Room" or "Facet Squared" by Fugazi, or "Thorn In My Side" by Quicksand. The main thing to remember is that you're playing for the musicians, not only the music fans. You need to be able to play more than just a good riff ... most of the music is the rhythm of the game and be able to follow the rest of the band. Being able to Showboat is fine, but if you can not lock with the music, you're not going to last. Make it clear to them that you can handle chores. Good luck!
