What is the difference between a guitar piece body, two body-work, and chambered body guitar?
Im having a guitar body built root, and I was wondering what the difference between a piece of guitar bodies, two bodies of the guitar, and chambered body guitar tone-wise. Also, I wanted to know what the original wood vintage Fender Stratocasters were made?
Fender's are known to have Alder bodied guitars. Alder is used extensively for bodies because of its lower weight and its full sound. Its closed grain makes this wood easy to finish. Alder natural color is a light brown, with little or no line of grain distinct. It looks good with a sunburst finish or a solid color. The tone is reputed to be the most balanced with equal doses of lows, mids and highs. A body is a piece a body that has been made of a single piece of wood. This means that there are points of glue that kill and sustain the sound and the tone of the guitar. A single piece is probably the most desirable for clean tones. They usually give the best sustain and tone. A two part body is a body thats been made from 2 different parts wood type (usually the same though. alder alder glued to IE.) They are glued together and then carved to make the guitar. This is desirable because it is cheaper and easier to find small pieces of wood. difference between the two pieces and one piece bodies that really is not significant. Because your best to have a body of two parts with good tone wood, then a body with a piece of bad wood. And remember that after going through overdrive, eq'ing, different amps, different settings, etc., the sound of body between one and two part really is not much different. Chambered guitars are guitars that have small holes in them to keep lighter weight. Gibson makes it there in new Les Pauls, due to the amount of complaints they receive about how they are weighed. Gibson said the tone that the TAP and the camera are guitars so they sound exactly the same. I really can not blame for this b / c I think the most recent Les Pauls are generally worse than the old, septate or not. So basically, the benefits are ... One Piece - Better tone - better support - Resonance Two Piece body better - cheaper - is not noticeably different a piece - in fact it is more structurally sound of Warping cola common and usually is stronger than wood. Chambered - Less weight - presumably the same sound
