Different kinds of guitars
People may not be aware that there are more than two types (acoustic and electric guitar) that can be created, but there are many different types of guitars. There are some very big differences in each and what follows is an overview the types of custom guitars that do regularly to clients and can teach you to do. This list is not inclusive, but it will give you a guide for different projects I undertake to hand making guitars.
A lap steel guitar is usually electric. It is of a solid body electric guitar, which sits in your lap. There are no frets on the guitar, just fret markers, what to tell you where to place the steel bar that slides up and down using your left hand. His right hand is used to choose the finger chords.
The Guitar resonator has a resonator cone of aluminum in the body of the instrument and sit in your lap and the lap steel guitar. It is usually a square neck instrument, but can also be found with a round neck. It is played similarly to a normal guitar, but the cone resonator is what gives a particular sound. It is often referred to as a Dobro guitar, based in California dopy brothers, who invented the style of the instrument.
A mandolin is known as an instrument of arch style top-f. They are small, with "f" holes in the body. It's sharp instrument, with sound that has eight strings. The mandolin requires a lot of sculpture, it has a carved top, carved back, and a scroll on the body. The mandolin is commonly used in bluegrass music.
banjos are all wood, wooden body and neck, and usually have a skin with metal pieces that surround it. They use nylon strings that can be surprisingly high. banjos of wood are generally used as practice instruments in place of a real banjo, but are also used in small acoustic tracks.
Making a guitar is different each time and there are several steps and requirements to be followed for each type guitar different.
